Abstract: Indicators characterizing the education industry and the literacy level of the
population are mainly classified according to the criteria adopted in order to ensure international
comparability. In terms of comparability, among the main areas whose statistical indicators should
be determined are expenses allocated to the field of education, the number of people with higher
education per thousand of the population, the cost of education per person, etc. can be shown. In
this sense, it is also important to identify and research internationally recognized sources of
funding for the education industry. Thus, the basis of quality and efficient education is strong
funding. For this reason, in the article, a comparative analysis of funding sources in the field of
education applied in several countries of the world and in Azerbaijan was carried out.
