Abstract: Cities are the crystallization point of megatrends and express our living habits and
needs. The latest trends and buzzwords are smart vertical densification, co-living, healing
architecture, urban production in 15 minutes. These patterns indicate and trigger the transformation
of urban life, including the way we live, move and work [18]. In addition, urban planners
initiate and promote the necessary transformation of sustainability [22]. Together with the local
community, they develop projects that respond to the changing needs of residents and the need for
sustainable development – be it green housing, dynamic neighborhoods, shared spaces or the
regeneration and construction of (new) urban areas and transport zones.
Regionalism is represented in trends such as urban farming and co-living, rethinking urban
society and responding to new ways of living. How is sustainability recognized in this transformation?
In a densely populated system such as a city, it is natural to struggle with different interests.
However, attempts to balance specific requirements or use cases have met with mixed success. The
unity of interests and the expression of an attractive territory is tourism, which in its original sense
attracts foreigners to the city. Although destination marketing aims to integrate tourists into a
specific local context, it often remains a marketing slogan designed to convince residents to support
tourism development within the framework of mutual interests or, at least, to promote peaceful
coexistence [11].
